Organized in 1988 as a non-profit organization to help needy children within our community. The original twenty-five Directors desired to create a process for friends to celebrate a special season, and yet, allow all to contribute towards a better Christmas for the under-privileged children of Central Florida.
From its humble start of having just a few hundred guests, the Margarita Ball has blossomed into one of the most anticipated events of the year, always kicking off the holiday season.
Our 2024 event was a record year, and for many reasons. We officially collected the most toys we have ever collected to date – 4,045 toys! In addition, thanks to our wonderful Holiday Tree Village sponsors and participants of the auction, we brought in a total of $19,883.00!
The impact that these funds will provide throughout the year for the additional needs that arise for the nonprofits we serve.

On behalf of the Directors of the Margarita Society of Volusia County, Inc., we would like to extend an offer for you to join our board of directors to continue our 35+ year legacy hosting the Margarita Ball. Approximately 10 – 15 charities are selected each year to receive the Christmas gifts collected during our event. We invite you to participate by completing this online application no later than April 15, 2026. Potential candidates are voted on by the current board. If our director positions have reached capacity, you will be added to a waitlist.
The Margarita Ball works a little differently than other local galas. We do not sell any individual tickets to this event. Instead, the event is funded by a dedicated board of directors who in turn each receive a set amount of invitations to hand out.
If you receive an invitation to the Margarita Ball, your invitation and toy donations for children in need are your “tickets” to the event. The gifts you bring will be dispersed to children in our local area through our carefully selected charity partners, and will make a tremendous difference!
Daytona Beach, Fla. — July 29, 2025 — The Margarita Society of Volusia continued its tradition of giving back with a festive Christmas in July celebration, where the organization presented $1,500 donations to three local nonprofits: The Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties, The Jewish Federation of Volusia and Flagler Counties, and The FUTURES Foundation for Volusia County Schools.
